Kids at Valley Springs
Children are very important to God. He loves them deeply and has a very special plan for their lives. They are a part of His story. As parents are called to be the primary nurturers of their children’s spiritual formation (Deuteronomy 6:5-7), our goal is to support them in this process. We provide gospel-centered programs that encourage children to begin growing in their understanding of and loving relationship with God, learning and applying His Word to their lives; loving and serving others. We want all children to feel welcome, accepted, and loved.
Children from age 3 years through kindergarten attend Discoveryland during worship services. Each child is greeted and has a variety of play opportunities to choose from before gathering for lively worship and active participation in a Bible story. Kids then meet in age-level groups for prayer, discussion that links the Bible story to their life experiences, a craft, and snack before heading out to the playground.
Kids are invited to participate in a Christmas program and Mother’s Day/Father’s Day program each year where they sing for their families and the rest of the congregation.
Parents receive a newsletter the Friday before the service their child will attend, informing them of the Bible story that will be shared, possible discussion questions, missions update, and other relevant information. Parents are encouraged to share with staff any information about their child that may be helpful in caring for and teaching them.
