Pentecost Sunday | Joel 2:28-32
Pastor Tag Tuck | In this sermon from Joel 2:28–32, Pastor Tag Tuck explores why we dread facing the dreadful parts of our lives. In this sermon from Joel, we see that devastation, judgment, and our own sin are not the end of the story. Because the Holy Spirit has been poured out, we must call on Him who calls on us. Pastor Tag walks through the passage using four key themes:
Postscript — the locusts, the invading army, and God’s jealous love that moves Him to restore His people.
Pouring — God promises to restore what was lost and to pour out His Spirit on all flesh—sons and daughters, old and young, servants and free.
Wonders — signs of blood, fire, and smoke that point to the coming Day of the Lord and expose our need for mercy.
Calling — everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved through Christ’s innocent, purifying blood.
